Heritage
A house, in its own words
MCoBeauty was founded in 2019 by Sydney entrepreneur Shelley Sullivan, building directly on the eighteen-year foundation she had already established with ModelCo, her original beauty venture launched in the early 2000s. Where ModelCo pioneered sunless tanning innovation and built a reputation through retail partnerships across Australia and abroad, MCoBeauty arrived as a sharper, faster, digitally native counterpart, designed from the first sketch for social commerce rather than department store counters. The brand surfaced on TikTok Shop in the early 2020s and quickly became one of the platform's most-clicked beauty labels, propelled by creators reviewing its hair mists and body sprays. A wave of limited-edition fragrance drops followed, including the numbered Fragrance Mist collection and the Fragrance Bouquet launch timed around National Fragrance Day in March 2025. By its sixth year, MCoBeauty had expanded into matching fragrance roll-ons and seasonal scent capsules, positioning itself as a destination for affordable, trend-driven perfumery from the Southern Hemisphere. MCoBeauty operates on a single, clearly stated belief: prestige fragrance should not require a prestige budget. The brand studies what is selling at the top of the market, from Brazilian body mists to Parisian designer flankers, and works to deliver a comparable sensory experience at a fraction of the cost. Founder Shelley Sullivan has framed the brand as a disruptor built on smarter innovation and sharper pricing, and the fragrance line embodies that brief directly. The numbered system, with scents like No. 4 Vanilla and Macadamia, is a deliberate cue. It invites comparison, signals transparency about the brand's dup-driven model, and turns the shopping experience into something closer to collecting than choosing. Vegan and cruelty-free formulations sit alongside the pricing philosophy, signalling that accessibility and ethics are meant to coexist rather than trade off. What sets MCoBeauty apart is the rhythm of release. Limited drops, creator-led previews, and rapid sell-throughs create a sense of urgency that mirrors sneaker culture more than traditional perfumery.
