Heritage
A house, in its own words
The story of Lumi begins in the Philippines, where Lumi Candles PH opened its doors on February 1, 2020. What started as a hobbyist candle line soon attracted a community of scent enthusiasts who appreciated the brand’s dedication to atmosphere and olfactory storytelling. In 2024 the founders expanded the concept into perfumery, launching an Italian‑based niche house under the same name. The debut collection featured three fragrances – Krea, Concipio and Dulce Fundamentum – each named with Italian verbs that suggest creation, conception and foundational sweetness. The launch was covered by niche‑fragrance outlets and signaled a shift from home fragrance to skin‑applied art. March 2025 saw the introduction of the Illegittimo Duo, La Coscienza and La Sovversione, followed by a spring wave that added Meraviglianza, Dessert Chantilly, Blancocò Chocolate, Caffè Letterario and Rubylù Chocolate. Throughout its first two years Lumi has maintained a small‑batch production model, sourcing raw materials from established European suppliers while keeping manufacturing in Italy. The brand’s rapid expansion has been documented in industry newsletters and independent fragrance blogs, establishing Lumi as a fresh voice that bridges candle‑making heritage with perfume innovation. Lumi’s creative vision centers on the idea of light as a metaphor for clarity, balance and emotional resonance. The name itself, derived from the Latin word for light, frames the house’s approach: every fragrance is meant to illuminate a moment rather than overwhelm it. The brand states that it draws inspiration from everyday experiences – a cup of coffee, a slice of chocolate, a burst of champagne – and translates those sensations into scent narratives that feel both intimate and universal. Values such as sustainability, transparency and respect for traditional Italian craftsmanship guide decision‑making. Lumi avoids trend‑driven gimmicks, preferring instead to let each ingredient speak for itself. The house encourages collectors to build personal scent stories, suggesting that a fragrance should evolve with the wearer’s life rather than remain static. This philosophy is reflected in the way the brand groups its releases into thematic families, allowing customers to explore variations on a concept while maintaining a coherent olfactory language.
