The story of House of Gray begins with Elizabeth Rose, a Portland-based perfumer who first established herself in the fragrance industry through Avé Parfum. After building experience and recognition through that initial venture, Rose turned her creative attention toward establishing a dedicated fragrance house. November 2018 marked the official debut of House of Gray, representing a significant expansion of her perfumery ambitions. The launch did not occur in isolation. Rose collaborated closely with Eugene and Emrys Au, the founders of Auphorie Perfume, a house known for its artisanal approach and attention to ingredient quality. This partnership brought together Rose's vision for House of Gray with the expertise and material sourcing capabilities of Auphorie. The inaugural collection comprised three distinct fragrances: Layebana, Paradisus, and Bohemia.
