The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Passeggiata is Italian for a leisurely walk, the kind that goes nowhere specific and means everything. Launched in 2023 by Bvlgari, created by Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, it belongs to the Allegra collection, where the brand translates the richness and color of Italian emotion into expressive fragrances. Each multicolored bottle pays homage to artisanal glassblowing, turning everyday pleasure into something wearable.
The three notes, Floral Notes, Musk, Ylang-Ylang, sound simple on paper. They are not. One reviewer called it 'a tropical explosion' on first spray: honey, frangipani, quince. The ylang-ylang drives the tropical warmth, and the musk amplifies rather than softens. What reads as clean in the pyramid becomes creamy, almost exotic on skin, more island than Italian garden.
The evolution
The opening hits warm. Honeyed florals with a tropical edge that announces itself before settling. The ylang-ylang takes the lead, bringing creamy, almost coconut warmth that feels more exotic than expected. As the top notes recede, the musk deepens everything, the floral sweetness doesn't fade, it warms, becomes skin-warm and intimate. The drydown settles into powdery warmth, close and lingering. Eight to ten hours on most skin types, intimate sillage that stays close rather than filling the room.
Cultural impact
Bvlgari's Allegra collection occupies a specific space, Italianate emotion distilled into scent. Passeggiata's warmth and tropical richness stand out in a category that often favors restraint. The 2023 launch reflects the collection's ongoing commitment to expressive, joyful compositions.
