Heritage
A house, in its own words
Anine Bing launched her brand in 2012 after years as a model working in Paris and Stockholm. Born in Denmark, she moved to Los Angeles and began documenting her personal style on a blog, which attracted a following interested in her approach to wardrobe essentials. The early business model centered on selling vintage and vintage-inspired clothing online. Her husband Nicolai Bing joined as co-founder and President, bringing business acumen to complement her creative direction. Within five years of founding, the company had expanded from its digital origins into a recognized fashion label. The Savage Rose fragrance arrived in 2017 as the brand's first scent, marking a significant category expansion. The company continued growing through the 2010s and into the 2020s, adding new fragrance releases and broadening its product range. By 2020, Pure Noir joined the collection, followed by Rose Wood in 2023. Throughout its history, the brand has maintained a direct-to-consumer approach, primarily selling through its own retail locations and online platform. Anine Bing the founder remains active as Chief Creative Officer, continuing to shape the brand's aesthetic direction.
Anine Bing describes her design approach through her own lifestyle and personal aesthetic. The brand centers on wardrobe essentials that balance sophistication with the casual energy of Los Angeles street style. Influenced by her Scandinavian roots and her years modeling in European fashion capitals, Anine Bing creates pieces she describes as the kind of things she always wanted to wear. The fragrance line follows this same sensibility, offering scents described as feminine and cool rather than overly ornate or precious. In interviews about her first fragrance, Anine Bing spoke about the personal nature of scent and how certain notes evoke specific memories and moods. The brand's aesthetic emphasizes versatility, creating pieces that work across occasions rather than single-use statement items. This approach extends to the fragrance collection, where scents are positioned as finishing touches rather than signature declarations. The overall philosophy prioritizes wearable luxury and timeless design over trend-driven novelty.
