    Katell Plisson

Katell Plisson entered the fragrance world after a rigorous chemistry program that demanded seven years of study. She earned her first laboratory position in Paris before joining the boutique house Cinquième Sens in 2011. At Cinquième Sens she built a reputation for translating botanical nuance into elegant compositions. In 2025 she released Belle Suzette, an extrait de parfum that blends bright citrus with a soft, powdery heart. Critics praised the scent for its clarity and restraint, marking Katell’s first high‑profile breakthrough. Today she balances her time between creating for the house and mentoring emerging noses, always insisting that a perfume must feel honest from the first spray to the lingering dry‑down.

    The signature

    How Katell composes

Katell favors 100 % natural extracts, preferring ingredients that retain their original character. She builds compositions around a single flower or herb, then frames it with complementary green or woody accents. Her technique often involves slow maceration, letting the material evolve before she adds supporting accords. Citrus, white flowers, and soft musks appear frequently in her work, each treated with a light hand that avoids overpowering the core theme. The result feels clean, refined, and unmistakably her own.

    Philosophy

    What drives Katell

Katell believes that a fragrance should honor the integrity of its raw materials. She insists on sourcing ingredients that respect both the environment and the farmer, allowing each note to speak without artificial enhancement. For her, scent serves as a quiet conversation between memory and moment, and she seeks to capture that dialogue with precision. She approaches each brief as a chance to reveal a hidden emotion, trusting that simplicity often yields the strongest impact.
