    Esmail Firoz

Esmail Firoz operates at the intersection of family heritage and contemporary Arabian perfumery as a key figure at My Perfume Factory, the Dubai-based house his father Firoz Baugwala founded in 1993. Growing up inside a business that grew from Indian roots into a respected name across the UAE fragrance scene, Firoz absorbed the technical and cultural foundations of oriental composition from an early age. He holds a Bachelor of Science completed between 2007 and 2010, grounding his creative work in scientific rigor rather than relying purely on inherited intuition. Today he manages operations and contributes to the creative output of the My Perfumes group, which encompasses the Arabesque, Attar Collection, and Flamboyant lines. His portfolio reflects the breadth of modern Arabian perfumery, spanning the opulent amber and floral compositions favored in the Gulf, the denser oud-driven statements that built the regional category, and the cleaner musk-forward skin scents gaining ground among younger collectors. Working alongside his brother Mustafa Firoz, who leads My Perfumes Select and Arabiyat Prestige, Esmail represents the second generation translating three decades of family knowledge into bottles that compete on the international stage.

    The signature

    How Esmail composes

Firoz gravitates toward the materials that define modern Gulf perfumery, including richly resinous ambers, creamy and animalic musks, opulent florals such as tuberose, narcissus, and rose, and the warmer, sweeter faces of oud rather than its smokier traditional expressions. His signature work often layers sweetness with depth, producing compositions that open with honeyed or fruity brightness before settling into dense, resinous bases. He builds skin-adjacent musks with substantial presence, the kind of fragrances that project confidence in close quarters. Across the Arabesque, Attar Collection, and Flamboyant ranges, his hand shows a consistent preference for warmth, sweetness calibrated to avoid cloying, and the polished finish expected of Dubai's premium tier.

    Philosophy

    What drives Esmail

Firoz builds fragrances from a position of cultural fluency. He treats oriental perfumery not as a fixed tradition but as a living language, one that can accommodate French structural clarity without losing its emotional core. His approach prizes authenticity of raw materials, a value embedded in the company since its founding, and he favors compositions that read clearly on skin rather than chasing shock-value openings. Family accountability shapes his work; every release carries the Firoz name, and that legacy informs a preference for longevity, projection calibrated to social wearability, and accords that feel generous rather than austere. He seems driven by the idea that Arabian fragrance deserves global recognition on its own terms, not as a curiosity but as a serious creative category.
