    Andrea Thero Casotti

Andrea “Thero” Casotti grew up in the industrial heart of Italy, where the scent of leather and espresso lingered in every workshop. Born Andre Cassoti, he adopted the moniker “Thero” to mark the artistic turn that defined his career. He entered the fragrance world in the early 2000s, first assisting established noses before turning his attention to independent projects. In 2015 he co‑founder the Moresque brand and immediately assumed the role of chief perfumer. The launch of Aristoqrati, a unisex blend that married crisp citrus with smoky oud, announced his arrival on the niche stage. Since then he added Rand, a spicy‑woody ode to Arabian roses, and collaborated on Guilty Crush The House of Oud, proving that his palette can swing from bright boozy accords to deep, resinous shadows. Critics note his ability to translate personal memory into scent, and collectors cite his work as a benchmark for modern Italian craftsmanship.

    The signature

    How Andrea composes

Casotti favors contrast. He layers bright citrus or aromatic herbs with deep woods, amber, and oud, creating a push‑pull that keeps the nose engaged. He reaches for jasmine and rose when he wants a floral core, but he often veils them in spice, tobacco or fermented accords to add depth. Patchouli, sandalwood and vetiver appear frequently, anchoring his compositions. He experiments with boozy notes—rum, gin, or fortified wine—allowing a fleeting warmth to surface before the dry base settles. His signatures include a crisp opening that dissolves into a smoky, resinous finish.

    Philosophy

    What drives Andrea

Casotti treats each formula as a conversation between past and present. He believes that a fragrance must capture a moment while hinting at what lies beyond it. He draws inspiration from architecture, cinema and the streets of Milan, letting those images dictate the balance of light and shadow in his blends. He refuses to chase trends; instead he follows the chemistry of emotion, letting a single note dictate the structure of the whole. For him, scent is a tactile memory that can be opened, examined, and reshaped with each new creation.
