The Story
Why it exists.
Daisy Love arrived in 2018 as the next chapter in a franchise that began with the original Daisy in 2007. Alberto Morillas, the same perfumer behind that first icon, returned to the daisy field with a new direction in mind. The goal was to reach a new generation of wearers, finding a fruit that felt contemporary without leaning into passing trends. Cloudberry offered exactly that kind of character, the tart-honeyed berry gave Morillas a starting point that hadn't yet appeared in the Daisy lineup. The fragrance opens with a crisp, luminous burst of cloudberry that feels both bright and subtly sweet, a tartness that doesn't veer into sharpness. As it develops on skin, the fruit accord softens and blends with a creamy floral heart, while the base notes introduce warmth and depth.

The Beginning
Cloudberry (Rubus chamaemorus) grows in cool, northern regions and has a flavor profile that is tart, bright, and slightly honeyed. In perfumery, sourcing is limited and creating an authentic accord can be difficult. Morillas worked with a cloudberry accord that captures the fruit's natural tartness without tipping into candy-like territory. The balance he achieved keeps the berry feeling genuine and grounded. The daisy tree note gives the heart its name and adds a creamy, slightly green floralcy that softens the fruit's brightness, creating a gentler middle ground.
The Evolution
Daisy Love arrived in 2018, expanding the Daisy franchise into warmer olfactory territory. Perfumer Alberto Morillas, who created the original 2007 Daisy, returned to reinterpret the concept for a new generation. Rather than simply amplifying the fresh-fruity formula found in earlier flankers, Morillas introduced cloudberry, a tart, honeyed berry, to give the opening a distinctive tart-sweetness. The cashmere musk and driftwood base add intimacy and depth, creating a different kind of drydown than the previous releases in the line. On skin, the fragrance opens with an immediate burst of bright, juicy cloudberry that feels modern and confident. The tart-sweetness holds steady through the heart, where softer floral notes round out the edges, before melting into a warm, enveloping base of musk and woody nuances. The progression feels cohesive, each stage building naturally on the last.
Cultural Impact
Daisy Love brought something different to the Daisy lineup with its cloudberry-forward composition. The use of this berry note, uncommon in many Western fragrances, gives the scent a distinctive tart-sweet quality that stands apart from more traditional fruity-floral approaches. Combined with a warm musk and wood base, the overall effect is one of subtle presence rather than bold projection. The fragrance settles close to the skin, with a moderate sillage that makes it feel intimate and personal rather than announced.

Marc Jacobs fragrances, produced under license by Coty, launched in 2001 with Marc Jacobs for Women, followed by a companion men's scent in 2002. The brand has since built an extensive portfolio of fragrances anchored by signature lines including Daisy (2007), Lola (2009), Decadence (2015), and Perfect (2020). Daisy, named after Daisy Buchanan from F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, quickly became a defining success for the brand, spawning numerous flankers and variations across multiple collections. The line's visual identity, with its oversized daisy cap atop a clean bottle, became one of the most recognizable silhouettes in contemporary perfumery. Decadence introduced a handbag-shaped bottle on a gold tasselled chain, a notably unconventional vessel for fragrance at the time of its launch. The brand has collaborated with a broad roster of perfumers over the years, including Annie Buzantian, Ann Gottlieb, Steve DeMercado, Loc Dong, Alberto Morillas, and Calice Becker, among many others. Marc Jacobs fragrances are available at major department stores worldwide and online.

A Sunday afternoon with nowhere urgent to be. Bright, warm, and easy, the kind of day that doesn't ask anything of you. Cloudberry and cashmere musk in a bottle, set to a melody that doesn't try too hard but lands perfectly anyway. Youthful without being young, effortless without being simple.
