Conceived for the Alinea collection, Mellifera emerged in 2019 under the hand of Fredrik Dalman. The house, founded in Amsterdam in 2004, has always chased the dialogue between light and shadow, echoing the golden era of 1920s‑30s perfumery while speaking in a modern tone. Inspired by an “imaginary beehive,” the scent aims to translate the hum of a lavender‑filled meadow into liquid form.

Lavender provides a crisp, herbaceous spark that instantly recalls a summer bloom, while heather adds a subtle, dry earthiness reminiscent of heathland under a clear sky. Beeswax introduces a creamy, resinous body, anchoring the composition, and honey delivers a sweet, golden finish that lingers like sunlight on wax. The blend is unusual for pairing a classic herb with a true‑to‑life honey.

At first spray, Lavender Extract erupts bright and aromatic, a clean, slightly camphorous breeze that feels like a wind over blooming rows. Within ten minutes the sharpness softens, giving way to a heart of heather’s green‑gray nuance intertwined with the warm, buttery glow of Beeswax absolute; the air turns honey‑laden, sweet‑spicy, and oddly comforting.
