Heritage
A house, in its own words
Sospiro was born in 2011 from the vision of Sergio Momo, the founder and creative force behind the acclaimed niche house Xerjoff. Initially, Sospiro operated as a distinct but connected entity, a stage for Momo to explore the profound link between scent and classical music, particularly Italian opera. The brand quickly gained a cult following for its rich compositions and its iconic, jewel-toned velvet bottles, each a tactile and visual statement. After several successful years, the brand went on a brief hiatus, and the original velvet-clad fragrances were discontinued around 2018. This move turned the existing bottles into prized collector's items, with fans lamenting their disappearance. However, this pause was merely an intermission. In 2022, Sospiro announced its grand return, relaunching as a fully independent brand, completely separate from the Xerjoff portfolio. This rebirth came with a bold new identity, a streamlined collection, and a clear vision for its future, ready to captivate a new generation of fragrance lovers.
The soul of Sospiro lies in its name, which means 'sigh' in Italian. The brand's philosophy is to create fragrances that evoke that same breathtaking, emotional release one feels when experiencing a powerful piece of music or art. Each perfume is conceived as a complete olfactory performance, with its own character, tempo, and story. They're not just scents; they are arias and overtures in a bottle. This approach moves beyond simple note combinations, aiming to capture a feeling, a mood, and a moment of pure, unadulterated luxury inspired by the theatrical and passionate world of opera.
