A house, in its own words
The story XYRCLE tells begins with founder and perfumer Andhika Pratikto recalling the daily ritual of watching his parents at their vanity in early childhood. That image of fragrance as a personal ceremony stayed with him through years of experimentation, including an unreleased composition called Vagabond, which he describes as the very first fragrance he ever created, born from curiosity rather than commercial intent. That early project was never meant to see the light of day, remaining a private lesson in blending and structure. He kept refining his craft while preparing to translate that private education into a public-facing house. XYRCLE's earliest commercially released edition was created in 2025, with new compositions following into 2026. The brand's registered establishment date is listed as May 9th, 2020 in Winterville, North Carolina, though the public-facing collection began arriving roughly five years later, suggesting a deliberate, slow incubation of the creative work before any product reached market. Pratikto's creative stance places craft and curiosity ahead of scale. The Vagabond anecdote captures this well: he developed it as a learning exercise, not a launch, and chose to keep it private rather than retroactively market it once XYRCLE became a going concern. That instinct, to separate the laboratory from the showroom, filters into the released work as well. The brand composes at extrait de Parfum concentration, a choice that signals a preference for density and longevity over the lighter, more volatile profile of standard eau de parfum. XYRCLE positions its catalog as unisex, leaning on warm and creamy accords rather than the sharper citrus or aromatic structures often used to telegraph gendered marketing. The collection reads as an invitation to wear scent close rather than broadcast it, with compositions designed for proximity rather than projection.
