Heritage
A house, in its own words
Pull & Bear was founded in 1991 in Spain by the Inditex group, the same family that created Zara and Massimo Dutti. The first boutique opened in a modest shopping centre in La Coruña, targeting teenagers who wanted casual, affordable clothing. Within a decade the label spread across Europe, opening flagship stores in Madrid, Paris and London. By 2005 Pull & Bear entered the Asian market, first in Japan and later in South Korea, adapting its collections to local street culture while keeping a consistent price point. In 2015 the brand celebrated its 25th anniversary with a runway show that highlighted its commitment to sustainability, introducing organic cotton lines and recycled‑material accessories. The following year Pull & Bear joined Inditex’s “Join Life” initiative, setting measurable targets for water reduction and carbon‑footprint reporting. In 2024 the retailer announced a new creative direction focused on “urban freedom,” a theme that would guide both apparel and its emerging fragrance portfolio. The first fragrance collection, titled “Behind the Scent,” launched in November 2025 after a collaboration with perfumers in Grasse, France. The launch marked Pull & Bear’s first foray into scented products, positioning scent as an extension of its clothing narrative. Throughout its three‑decade history the brand has remained anchored to a single promise: to deliver trend‑forward pieces that feel effortless and accessible to a globally connected youth.
Pull & Bear’s creative vision centers on the idea that style should feel spontaneous, not forced. The brand encourages customers to mix and match pieces, treating each outfit as a personal statement rather than a prescribed look. Sustainability sits at the core of its philosophy; every season the design team evaluates material choices, opting for recycled polyester, Tencel and responsibly sourced denim. When the company turned to fragrance, it applied the same principles: scents are crafted to be easy‑wear, versatile enough for a day on campus or a night in the city. The “Behind the Scent” line was developed with a brief that asked perfumers to capture the feeling of a city street at dusk – bright, slightly gritty, yet hopeful. Pull & Bear also believes in inclusivity, offering a wide size range and gender‑neutral collections, and it reflects that openness in its scent portfolio, releasing both masculine‑leaning and feminine‑leaning aromas without rigid labeling. Community engagement is another pillar; the brand partners with local artists for pop‑up installations and runs workshops that teach young people how to care for garments and understand fragrance notes. This blend of youthful freedom, environmental responsibility and cultural dialogue defines Pull & Bear’s approach to both fashion and scent.
