Steve Guo
Steve Guo's path to perfumery began far from the lavender fields of Provence. Born in Beijing, he crossed continents to France, earning a Bachelor's in Chemistry at the Université de Strasbourg before completing a Master's in Cosmetics, Aromas and Perfumes Engineering at Université Montpellier 2. The technical foundation proved only the beginning. In 2012, he joined the historic house of Galimard in Grasse as a perfumer assistant, absorbing the rhythms of the world's fragrance capital firsthand. He then entered Robertet's prestigious in-house perfumery school, training under one of the industry's most respected houses. In 2017, his rising talent earned him the SFP International Perfumer Prize, a recognition that placed him on the global stage. Three years in Paris followed, where he refined his craft before relocating back to China in 2021. He now serves as Fine Fragrance Perfumer at Firmenich in China, where he continues to shape scents that bridge Eastern and Western sensibilities.

What drives Steve
Steve approaches fragrance as a dialogue between cultures, between science and instinct, between memory and invention. His chemistry training gives him a grounded respect for raw materials and their behavior, yet he trusts the intuitive side of creation just as deeply. Working from Shanghai, he draws on both his French education and his Beijing roots, believing that the most compelling modern perfumery honors tradition while speaking a contemporary, global language. For him, a successful fragrance is one that feels both personal and universal, something that resonates with the wearer on an emotional level without shouting.
