Simone Lo Bue
Simone Lo Bue entered the fragrance world after a chemistry degree and a formal perfumery apprenticeship that lasted seven years. He spent his early career moving between cosmetics labs in Italy, France and the United Arab Emirates, where he learned to translate brand stories into scent formulas. In 2018 he joined Moellhausen, a niche house known for artistic risk‑taking. At Moellhausen he helped launch a series of expressive scents that earned praise for their theatrical flair. Simone credits his love of music, theater and dance for the way he builds each perfume, treating the bottle as a stage where notes perform. He now mentors junior noses and shares his process in workshops across Europe and the Middle East, shaping the next generation of scent creators.

How Simone composes
Simone works with a palette that balances bright citrus sparks, warm spices and deep woods. He layers ingredients like a composer, letting a bright top note set the tempo before introducing a heart of floral or herbal nuance, and finally grounding the piece with a resonant base of amber, oud or vetiver. He favors natural extracts that retain their original texture, but he also embraces modern synthetics when they add precision. His formulas often feature a clear structure, each layer revealing itself in time, creating a scent that evolves like a performance.
Philosophy
What drives Simone
Simone believes a perfume must convey a clear emotional pulse. He draws on the rhythm of a drumbeat, the tension of a ballet pose, and the drama of a theater scene to give each composition a narrative arc. He avoids generic trends, instead seeking moments that spark personal memory. For him, the creative spark arrives when a scent captures a feeling he cannot name, then he refines it until the emotion becomes audible on the skin. This focus on character over trend drives every project he touches.
