Meredith Smith
Meredith Smith came to fragrance sideways, by way of pixels and typography. A Seattle-based graphic designer and web developer, she stumbled into perfumery in 2005 when friends pulled her into the early online perfume community. That rabbit hole became a second career. She spent years studying composition while keeping her design day job on Capitol Hill, slowly trading code for accord formulas. In 2010 she founded Sweet Anthem Perfumes, a small, handcrafted indie label rooted in the Pacific Northwest. She later expanded the project, adding a second line and eventually relocating to the Bay Area. Smith has spoken at Seattle's Free the Nose event and built a devoted following for her narrative-driven approach to indie scent.
