Majid Muzaffar Iterji
Majid Muzaffar Iterji grew up amid the fragrant aisles of his grandfather’s workshop, where raw oud and rose petals sparked his curiosity. He spent his teenage years measuring, grinding, and testing ingredients under his grandfather’s watchful eye. After completing a formal apprenticeship at a renowned perfume school in Istanbul, he returned home and took the helm of the family house. In the early 2000s he launched his first solo collection, a citrus‑gourmand blend that earned praise for its bright opening and indulgent heart. The success of that launch gave him the confidence to expand the line, introduce modern packaging, and open a boutique in Mecca. Today he oversees a catalog of dozens of scents, mentors young noses, and travels to source rare woods and spices for his next creation.

How Majid composes
Majid favors a clear, layered architecture that lets each ingredient speak. He builds his scents around a strong base of natural woods, musk, or amber, then adds a bright top that catches attention. Citrus, apple, and dark chocolate appear frequently in his gourmand pieces, while floral accords such as rose and jasmine anchor his spring releases. He often incorporates traditional Middle Eastern mukhallat blends, treating them as a palette rather than a rule. His technique includes slow maceration, allowing the heart notes to meld fully before bottling. The result feels both rooted and contemporary, inviting the wearer to explore familiar aromas in a fresh context.
Philosophy
What drives Majid
Majid believes that perfume should capture a moment and translate it into scent. He respects the traditions handed down by his ancestors, yet he refuses to let nostalgia dictate every decision. Each formula begins with a memory—a sunrise over the desert, a bustling market, a quiet evening with tea. He then translates that image into a structure that balances intensity with wearability. Quality drives every choice; he insists on authentic raw materials, whether it is a cold‑pressed citrus oil or a sustainably harvested oud chip. The process rewards patience, and he trusts that the best results emerge when the nose listens as much as it commands.
