Jordi Magrans
Jordi Magrans grew up in Spain surrounded by the aromas of his family’s kitchen and the Mediterranean countryside. He turned that childhood curiosity into a formal apprenticeship at a historic fragrance house, where he learned the chemistry of essential oils and the discipline of batch testing. In the early 2010s he partnered with his brother Jaume to launch Almah Parfums 1948, a label that blends classic French technique with a distinctly Iberian sensibility. As CEO‑perfumer he guides every stage of development, from sourcing raw botanicals in remote valleys to overseeing the final press. The 2019 release Green Crown announced his talent for marrying bright citrus with herbaceous green notes, earning praise across Europe and cementing his reputation as a modern artisan. Today he mentors young noses while expanding Almah’s portfolio into niche markets.

How Jordi composes
Jordi’s technique centers on green, herbaceous accords layered with bright citrus. He often starts with bergamot, celery or basil, then weaves in fir, cardamom and marjoram to create depth. A signature move is to balance tension with calm by adding a whisper of green tea or soft musk, letting the composition breathe. He favors cold‑press extraction for fresh notes and ages blends in glass to let volatile elements settle. The result feels weightless yet anchored in natural authenticity.
Philosophy
What drives Jordi
Jordi believes scent should echo the places that shape memory. He travels to remote farms, watches harvests, and records the first breath of a leaf before it meets a bottle. In the lab he treats each ingredient as a character, letting it speak before imposing structure. He avoids synthetic shortcuts, preferring natural extracts that reveal subtle shifts over time. The drive behind his work is a quiet respect for nature’s chemistry and a desire to craft fragrances that feel both familiar and unexpected.
