    Master Perfumer

    Doris Brugger

Doris Brugger built her fragrance house from a different starting point than most. She arrived in perfumery through the world of organic spa and natural beauty, not the traditional route of training under a master perfumer or studying at a dedicated school. In 2002, she released her first scented body oil, Aphrodite, alongside an all-natural beauty line. The real turning point came that same year, when a meeting with Italian perfumer Lorenzo Villoresi shifted her direction entirely. Villoresi, known for his devotion to natural raw materials and classical perfumery structures, sparked something in Brugger. She returned to Germany determined to create fragrances built on pure natural ingredients. The result was her own label, Dorissima, and a small but focused collection of scents that included Goldmund and Narziß. She has since built over a decade of experience leading Dorissima as both creative force and CEO, blending her passion for wellness, sustainability, and botanical ingredients into a cohesive brand identity.

    How Doris composes

Brugger works almost exclusively with natural raw materials, favoring botanical absolutes, essential oils, and aromatic extracts over synthetic alternatives. Her fragrances tend to read as intimate and skin-oriented, shaped by the kind of rich, warm materials that work well in oil-based formats. Two releases defined her early style: Goldmund and Narziß, both from 2003, each demonstrating her interest in evocative, poetic naming and classical floral-spicy structures drawn from nature. Her preference for parfum oils over conventional alcohol-based formats reinforces the spa and wellness sensibility that runs through her work. The aesthetic is less about spectacle and more about closeness, compositions that sit close to the skin and reward repeated wearing.

    Philosophy

    What drives Doris

Brugger believes fragrance should come from nature first. Her creative compass points toward purity of ingredients, and every composition she releases under the Dorissima name reflects that commitment. She treats scent as an extension of holistic wellbeing, a principle rooted in her background in the organic spa industry. Rather than chasing trends or building elaborate synthetic structures, she focuses on what botanicals can offer when handled with respect and intention. Her encounter with Lorenzo Villoresi crystallized this approach, showing her that natural perfumery could be sophisticated, layered, and emotionally resonant without reliance on lab-created aromachemicals. Sustainability runs through everything she does, not as a marketing angle but as a genuine operational priority.
