The Story
Why it exists.
MIIM.MIIC’s laboratory set out to recreate the celebrated Baccarat Rouge 540 note-by-note, and No 99 Amber Floral Wood became the 2025 embodiment of that ambition. Using publicly available GC-MS data, the in-house chemists matched saffron’s earthy punch with jasmine’s luminous bloom, then layered ambergris, amberwood, cedar and fir resin to echo the original’s amber-woody heart. The result is a transparent, affordable homage that fits the brand’s mission to democratise luxury scents.

The Beginning
MIIM.MIIC’s laboratory set out to recreate the celebrated Baccarat Rouge 540 note-by-note, and No 99 Amber Floral Wood became the 2025 embodiment of that ambition. Using publicly available GC-MS data, the in-house chemists matched saffron’s earthy punch with jasmine’s luminous bloom, then layered ambergris, amberwood, cedar and fir resin to echo the original’s amber-woody heart. The result is a transparent, affordable homage that fits the brand’s mission to democratise luxury scents.
Why saffron and jasmine? The contrast mirrors the original’s daring opening: saffron supplies a dry, almost leathery edge, while jasmine injects a bright, powdery lift. Ambergris and amberwood give the mid-phase a warm, animalic sheen that feels both sensual and refined, and the cedar-fir base grounds the composition, ensuring it settles into a lingering, woody trail that feels unmistakably familiar yet distinct.
The Evolution
At first spray, saffron’s dry, peppery spark hits the skin, quickly softened by jasmine’s sweet-spicy blossom, delivering a flash of spice-sweet contrast that feels like stepping onto sun-warmed stone. Within minutes the ambergris and amberwood emerge, creating a warm, animalic veil that clings to pulse points, like a candlelit lounge. As the day wears on, the cedar and fir resin take over, leaving a clean, woody dry-down that lingers for four to six hours, soft enough for close encounters yet present enough to be remembered.
Cultural Impact
Since its 2025 debut, No 99 Amber Floral Wood has become a touchstone for fragrance enthusiasts seeking a high-end vibe without the price tag. Wearers often cite its faithful nod to Baccarat Rouge 540 as a conversation starter, while the lab-style transparency fuels discussions about the ethics of scent duplication in the modern perfume community.
The House
United States (reported) · Est. 2023
MIIM.MIIC operates as a fragrance laboratory that builds scent copies that match the molecular profile of well‑known designer perfumes. The brand releases each new formula under a numeric code, for example No 152 Aquatic Lemon (2020) and No 99 Amber Floral Wood (2025). It markets the products as “dead‑on dupes” and positions the line as an affordable alternative to high‑price originals. The company reaches customers through its website, social channels and retail partners such as discount chains, where shoppers can test the scents without committing to a designer price tag.

The scent feels like a late-afternoon lounge: warm amber, subtle spice, and a hint of wood. The primary track “Nightcall” by Kavinsky captures that sleek, neon-lit vibe, while “Take Five” adds relaxed jazz cool and “Clair de Lune” brings a gentle, reflective finish.
