Heritage
A house, in its own words
Valeria Nesterova trained at ISIPCA, the perfumery school situated in Versailles with a campus in Grasse, a city widely regarded as the historic capital of French fragrance. Her academic background combines formal chemistry with classical perfumery education, an intersection she has described as central to her practice. Following her studies, Nesterova established her own label, Valerie Nesterova Exclusive Perfumes, and began releasing scents under a numbered system. The earliest documented edition in the line is Exclusive №05 COSMETIC POWDER, released in 2014, followed by Exclusive №11 MANGO POWDER in 2015 and Exclusive №18 TEA LOVER in 2016. The year 2017 marked the most prolific period for the house, with releases including Exclusive №08 CITRUS BLEND, Exclusive №09 BERRY FOREST, Exclusive №10 HERBS IN DESERT, Exclusive №16 PROSECCO, Exclusive №21 CEDAR MILK, Exclusive №22 EVERYDAY LOOK, and Exclusive №23 VETIVER IN MOLECULE. By 2018 the catalogue had grown to seventeen compositions, according to fragrance database Parfumo. Beyond creating perfumes, Nesterova founded Olfactory School, an educational platform where she teaches fragrance composition. She maintains a presence from Cannes, France, where she continues to develop her line while publishing educational content about perfumery to a YouTube audience of over ten thousand subscribers. Nesterova's creative vision centers on what she calls the "Perfume Wardrobe" concept, an approach that treats fragrance as a functional accessory rather than a luxury indulgence. Rather than building one signature scent, she encourages wearers to curate a personal rotation suited to mood, occasion, and season. The numbered naming convention reinforces this idea. Each release carries an Arabic numeral alongside a descriptive title, removing the romantic obfuscation common in niche perfumery and presenting the scent as an identifiable tool. Titles like EVERYDAY LOOK, TEA LOVER, and HERBS IN DESERT read less like poetic evocations and more like practical labels. Her background as a chemist-perfumer informs an analytical approach to composition. Nesterova frequently discusses raw materials, molecular structures, and synthetic accords in her published content, including a video exploring IFRA regulations and the role of synthetic ingredients in modern fragrance. This dual perspective, balancing sensory creativity with scientific literacy, distinguishes her work within the independent niche.
