A house, in its own words
Nuxe's story begins with Aliza Jabès, whose early immersion in the plant world shaped the brand's fundamental direction. Jabès built the company as a bridge between two worlds: the rigor of French pharmacy and the pleasure of sensorial beauty experiences. In 1991, she introduced Huile Prodigieuse, a multipurpose dry oil that became a signature product for the house and demonstrated her approach of combining efficacy with indulgent textures. This launch established Nuxe as a serious player in natural cosmetics before the term became a marketing category. The brand expanded its footprint internationally while maintaining French manufacturing, a decision that became central to its identity. The entry into perfumery came relatively late in the brand's history, with Prodigieux Le Parfum launching in 2012, nearly two decades after the skincare flagship was established. This fragrance introduced the Prodigieux olfactory signature that would spawn multiple flankers and interpretations over the following years. The 2018 releases of Le Matin des Possibles and Le Soir des Possibles showed the brand exploring time-of-day narratives in fragrance. By 2021, Nuxe had released both Rêve de Miel and Rêve de Thé, demonstrating interest in honey and tea accords respectively. The 2025 launch of Happy In Pink represents the house's most recent exploration of rose-forward composition.
Nuxe positions itself at the intersection of scientific rigor and sensory indulgence. The brand's approach to perfumery reflects its skincare philosophy, emphasizing natural-origin ingredients without sacrificing the emotional experience of wearing fragrance. Rather than chasing trend-driven compositions, Nuxe develops scents that function as extensions of its skincare universe, often launching flankers alongside corresponding body products. This strategy creates what the brand describes as a complete sensory ritual. The fragrance collection maintains coherence across releases, favoring warm, skin-congruent profiles over dramatic, projection-heavy compositions. The Prodigieux line exemplifies this philosophy, offering variations that allow wearers to find their specific expression of the house signature. Nuxe's perfumery direction appears guided by the same values that shaped its skincare: accessible luxury, botanical authenticity, and the belief that effective skincare should also be pleasurable to use.
