Heritage
A house, in its own words
The Bridgerton fragrance collection emerged from a licensing partnership between Coty, one of the world's largest beauty companies founded in Paris in 1904, and Netflix's Shondaland production company. The collaboration represents a growing trend in entertainment-fragrance crossovers, where brands seek to extend fictional universes into tangible consumer products. Unlike traditional fragrance houses with centuries of perfumery history, Bridgerton Parfums exists entirely because of its connection to a television property, first released to coincide with the show's streaming success. The collection launched in 2026, joining a lineup of Bridgerton merchandise that spans fashion collaborations, home goods, and beauty products. Michelle Feeney, founder of British fragrance brand Floral Street and described in press coverage as a global beauty pioneer, has been associated with the collection's development, bringing experience from her sustainable fragrance venture launched in 2017. The collection targets the show's devoted fanbase while appealing to fragrance enthusiasts drawn to narrative-driven scent concepts.
Bridgerton Parfums operates on the principle that fragrance can capture character. Rather than releasing generic florals or orientals, the collection assigns distinct olfactory identities to archetypal figures from the series. The perfumes explore themes of propriety versus passion, duty versus desire, and the performative nature of social interactions in Regency-era London. Each fragrance name incorporates a character title (Dearest) followed by an evocative descriptor (Graceful, Tempting, Rebel) that hints at both the personality it represents and the emotional territory it explores. The collection acknowledges that fans form genuine attachments to fictional characters, and that scent offers an intimate way to embody qualities they admire or desire. The philosophy extends to accessibility, with the collection positioned to bring fragrance to an audience that may be new to luxury perfumes but already emotionally invested in the source material.
