    Tania Bulhões

Tania Bulhões built her name in the Brazilian design world long before she ever composed a scent. From a small shop in Uberaba in the early 1990s, she grew a lifestyle empire famous for playful glassware, hand-finished tableware, and artful objects that radiate warmth and generosity. When the brand expanded into fine fragrance around 2010, she took a distinctly global approach, traveling to Grasse and working with some of the most experienced perfumers in the world to translate her Brazilian sensibility into bottled form. What sets her apart in fragrance is the bridge she occupies between creative director and house visionary. She is one of the few women who built a home design dynasty and then turned that eye toward scent, guiding every olfactory collaboration from concept to launch. Her catalog now spans dozens of editions, with new releases continuing to roll out as recently as 2024, a testament to a creative pace that has not slowed in three decades.

    How Tania composes

Bulhões favors compositions that feel sun-warmed and tactile, with a soft, lingering presence rather than sharp projection. Her fragrances lean into creamy florals, smooth woods, and gourmand accents that recall dessert and ripe fruit. White florals, vanilla, sandalwood, and amber form a recurring vocabulary, often wrapped in sheer musks that give the drydown a clean, skin-like intimacy. Tropical and Mediterranean references mingle freely, jasmine and orange blossom sit beside coconut milk and fig leaf, while citrus opens many of her lighter compositions. She gravitates toward perfumers who understand restraint, asking for diffusive sillage and graceful transitions rather than bold statements. The result is a signature style that reads as effortlessly elegant, feminine without being precious, and unmistakably Brazilian in its generous, joyful spirit.

    Philosophy

    What drives Tania

Bulhões treats fragrance as an extension of the table she sets and the home she builds. Every scent she commissions is meant to live alongside linen, candlelight, and conversation, never to overpower a room. Her approach is rooted in Brazilian warmth, tropical abundance, and the kind of easy hospitality that makes guests linger. She believes a great fragrance should feel inevitable, as though it has always belonged in your life. Rather than chasing trends, she draws from memory, place, and the textures of daily ritual: morning coffee, afternoon rain, the cool stone of a veranda at dusk. Each creation is built to carry emotion across a room, inviting people closer rather than announcing itself from across one. For Bulhões, scent is hospitality made liquid.
