    Oemer Ipekçi

Omer Ipekci grew up in Istanbul surrounded by the scent of spice markets and blooming gardens. After a chemistry degree, he entered a seven-year apprenticeship at a Parisian laboratory, where he learned the rigors of the nose. The turning point arrived when he realized that the mystery of a perfume lies in the raw flower itself. He now harvests blossoms at dawn and fills crystal bottles with their pure essence. In 2018 he launched Pekji, a label that had whispered among a tight circle of collectors for years. The brand’s first release earned rave reviews from connoisseurs who praised its unapologetic honesty. Ipekci’s career blends disciplined study with a rebellious spirit, and he continues to push the limits of what a single bloom can express.

    The signature

    How Oemer composes

His signature technique centers on macerating fresh petals in neutral alcohol for weeks, then distilling the infusion at low temperature. Turkish rose, jasmine, and wild lavender appear repeatedly, often paired with a whisper of cedar or ambergris to give depth. He favors natural absolutes over lab-crafted aromachemicals, allowing the flower’s innate character to lead the composition. Layers are built slowly, each addition tested on his own skin before the blend is sealed. The result is a clear, unfiltered aroma that feels like stepping into a garden at sunrise.

    Philosophy

    What drives Oemer

Omer believes that fragrance should be a direct conversation between the wearer and the source material. He treats each flower as a story, extracting its voice without masking it with heavy synthetics. The act of bottling a blossom becomes a ritual of respect, and the resulting scent invites the wearer to pause and listen. His work is driven by a desire to restore authenticity to modern perfumery, to remind people that a scent can be as honest as a spoken word. He measures success by the quiet moments his creations provoke, not by awards or sales figures.
