    Michael Cinco

Michael Cinco arrived in Dubai with little more than a portfolio and an appetite for grandeur. A graduate of Slims Fashion and Arts School in Manila and Central Saint Martins in London, he launched his eponymous couture house in 2003, and the gowns that followed carried his name from Dubai to Hollywood red carpets worn by Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga. Couture, however, was only the beginning. In 2012, Cinco introduced Impalpable, his first signature fragrance, translating the drama of his beaded bodices and crystal-encrusted gowns into something wearable. The perfume was produced through House of Dubai Royal Parfums, where Cinco serves as Creative Director alongside CEO Dr. Sayed Ali, the house behind the M.Micallef line. He refined his approach by enrolling in The Scent Studio perfumery class under Bernadette in the Philippines, an apprenticeship that grounded his couture instincts in the technical language of formulation. The result is a fragrance identity that borrows the vocabulary of high fashion, scale, finish, and presence, and applies it to the bottle.

    How Michael composes

Cinco approaches fragrance the way he approaches a couture sketch: with a clear silhouette in mind before the first ingredient is selected. His debut, Impalpable, announced a preference for compositions that appear weightless yet project with authority, a paradox he returns to often. Training under Bernadette at The Scent Studio sharpened his ear for balance, and his work through House of Dubai Royal Parfums reflects a maker comfortable with oriental and floral architectures. Expect generous florals softened by amber and resin bases, powdery finishes that recall dressing rooms, and accords built for the long stretch of an evening rather than the opening handshake. His style favors polish over provocation, dramatic but never coarse, with each ingredient polished to a high shine.

    Philosophy

    What drives Michael

Cinco treats fragrance as the final seam of a couture look, the invisible thread that carries a woman through the door and lingers after she leaves the room. He has spoken about perfume as a personal signature, an intimate extension of how a woman presents herself to the world. His sensibility draws from the same well as his gowns: femininity staged as power, restraint placed in service of spectacle. He builds around emotion rather than trend, aiming for scents that feel cinematic rather than seasonal. Working within House of Dubai Royal Parfums gives him access to serious materials, and he uses that latitude to pursue compositions with presence, the kind that announce themselves across a ballroom without shouting. For Cinco, elegance is not minimalism. It is confidence rendered in softer materials.
