    Kitty Shpirer

Kitty Shpirer entered the fragrance world with a scientist’s rigor and a poet’s curiosity. After earning a degree in chemistry and spending years as a research chemist and market analyst, she moved to Paris in 1997, where the city’s perfume houses offered her a front‑row seat to the craft. The transition from lab bench to scent studio felt natural; she applied analytical precision to the art of blending, quickly earning commissions from niche houses. Over the next fifteen years she built a reputation for fearless compositions that balance structure with imagination. In 2015 she launched Bissoumine, a boutique line that now showcases eight distinct fragrances. The collection’s centerpiece, Les Fleurs de Nall, reflects her love of pure, un‑adulterated florals and remains a personal favorite. Today Kitty mentors emerging noses while continuing to experiment in her Grasse atelier, proving that a disciplined mind can still dance with the wild side of scent.

    The signature

    How Kitty composes

Kitty’s signature technique blends rigorous analytical testing with spontaneous sketching. She begins with a clear structural framework—often a crisp citrus or a grounding woody base—then layers nuanced florals, herbs, or spices in small, measured increments. Her palette favors rare absolutes such as Bulgarian rose, Tunisian jasmine, and Madagascan vanilla, complemented by modern synthetics that enhance longevity without masking authenticity. She frequently employs a “dual‑phase” method, allowing a composition to rest, then revisiting it to adjust balance, a practice that yields depth and clarity. The result is a scent that feels meticulously crafted yet effortlessly alive.

    Philosophy

    What drives Kitty

Kitty believes that perfume should speak honestly, without the need for gimmicks or trends. She treats each ingredient as a character, letting its history and chemistry guide the composition. Her work honors the dialogue between science and emotion, insisting that a scent must first make sense on the molecular level before it can stir memory. Sustainability matters; she sources materials responsibly and favors natural extracts that retain their native integrity. Ultimately, she seeks to create moments that feel both intimate and universal, inviting wearers to pause and listen to their own inner rhythm.
