Juliet Rose
Juliet Rose grew up amid the rolling fields of southern England, where the scent of lavender and seaweed sparked her curiosity. After earning a Master’s in Fine Art in London, she turned that visual sensibility toward fragrance. She completed formal training at IPSICA in Paris and spent six months at the Givaudan Perfumery School in Geneva, where she honed her technical skill. In 1992 she entered IFF as a junior perfumer, quickly earning the trust of senior noses and contributing to several high-profile projects. By the early 2000s she left the corporate world to launch her own studio in the South of England, where she crafts bespoke scents for private clients and boutique houses. Her breakthrough came with a limited-edition floral-amber composition that captured the attention of editors and collectors alike, cementing her reputation as a daring yet refined creator. Today she balances studio work with teaching, sharing her blend of artistic rigor and sensory intuition with the next generation of noses.

How Juliet composes
Juliet favors natural absolutes and fine essential oils, often reaching for English rose, wild thyme, and Sussex oakmoss. She layers these with transparent synthetics that add depth without masking the heart of the material. Her signatures include a crisp opening built on citrus and green notes, a heart that unfolds with soft florals, and a dry-down anchored by warm amber or soft musk. She works in small batches, allowing each ingredient to breathe, and she frequently experiments with unconventional pairings such as seaweed accord with violet leaf. Her compositions reveal a clear structure, balanced by unexpected twists that keep the wearer engaged.
Philosophy
What drives Juliet
Juliet treats perfume as a visual canvas, translating colour, texture and emotion into scent. She believes a fragrance must reveal a personality without shouting, offering subtle clues that linger in memory. Her process begins with a story or a mood, then she sketches accords that echo that feeling. She respects raw materials, seeking ingredients that retain their natural character, and she avoids over-processing. For Juliet, the act of blending is a dialogue between the material and the maker, a moment where intuition meets disciplined composition. She strives to create scents that feel both intimate and timeless.
