Csaba Bálint
Csaba Bálint grew up on the ice, winning a World Junior silver medal in 1980 before swapping blades for bottles. After a competitive career, he turned to chemistry, studying fragrance formulation in Budapest and later in Vienna. He returned to his hometown in Serbia in 2014, where four years of self‑directed study and laboratory work prepared him for a new chapter. In 2018 he launched Balifleur, the debut scent of his eponymous house, Parfums Balint. The launch earned praise from niche collectors and marked his entry into a crowded market. Since then he has added more than twenty fragrances to his portfolio, each bearing his meticulous attention to balance and texture. He continues to mentor young noses in the region, sharing the discipline that once guided his jumps on the rink.

How Csaba composes
Csaba favors a linear construction that lets each note speak before the next arrives. He often begins with a crisp citrus or green top, then introduces a heart of floral or aromatic herbs, and grounds the piece with a subtle woody or resinous base. He prefers natural extracts such as Bulgarian rose, Hungarian lavender, and Serbian oakwood, but he also experiments with synthetics that enhance longevity without masking authenticity. His signatures include a clean, dry finish and a restrained use of sweet accords, allowing the composition to breathe.
Philosophy
What drives Csaba
Csaba treats each bottle as a conversation between memory and material. He believes that scent can capture a fleeting feeling and preserve it for later reflection. His work starts with a single impression—a sunrise, a childhood scent, a quiet moment—and he translates that into a formula that respects both tradition and innovation. He avoids gimmicks, focusing instead on clarity and honesty. For him, the most rewarding outcome is a perfume that feels familiar yet reveals new facets each time it is worn.
