    The Story of Black plum

Black plum delivers a bright, juicy sweetness that lifts a blend like a sunrise over a ripe orchard, offering a crisp fruit note with a subtle hint of tart acidity.

    Heritage

Ancient Chinese texts record the use of plum extracts in ceremonial incense, prized for their uplifting scent. By the 10th century, Arab traders introduced plum aromatics to the Mediterranean, where they appeared in early medieval perfume recipes. In the 19th century, French perfumers began experimenting with fruit absolutes, and black plum entered the European market as a rare, exotic note. Its inclusion marked a shift toward brighter fruit accords in the late Romantic era, influencing classic blends that still reference the plum’s crisp profile today. Modern natural perfumery continues to honor this legacy, using black plum to evoke the freshness of early summer harvests.

    How Black plum Is Made

We harvest black plums at peak ripeness, then wash and slice the fruit to expose the flesh. A cold-press CO2 system captures the volatile oils without heat, preserving the fruit's fresh sweetness. The extractor runs at 30 bar, pulling a clear, amber absolute that retains both the juicy top notes and the subtle tart edge. After extraction, we filter the concentrate through stainless steel mesh to remove pulp particles. The resulting absolute is stored in amber glass at 15 °C to prevent oxidation. This method yields a stable, high‑intensity ingredient that perfumers can blend directly into compositions, delivering a vivid fruit character without synthetic additives.
