    Timothy Han

Timothy Han grew up surrounded by books and city skylines, a background that nudged him toward architecture at a London university. After a stint in fashion and a brief flirtation with candle making, he grew restless with the predictability of mainstream scents. In 2016 he converted a modest East London studio into a laboratory, inviting seasoned noses to help translate his visual concepts into liquid form. The first handful of limited‑edition sprays earned a cult following on social media, and the buzz caught the eye of niche retailers. By 2019 he unveiled his fifth creation, cementing his reputation as a provocateur who treats fragrance as a medium for ideas rather than mere adornment. Today he runs Imprint Editions, a label that releases small batches tied to literature, politics, and architecture, and he continues to push the boundaries of what a perfume can convey.

    How Timothy composes

Han favors small‑batch production, which lets him experiment with rare or unconventional materials without compromising quality. He often layers synthetic accords with natural extracts to achieve textures that feel both familiar and alien. Green notes, smoky resins, and metallic accords appear frequently, reflecting his architectural training. He likes to juxtapose crisp, linear top notes with dense, lingering bases, creating a scent that evolves like a building under different light. The result is a collection of perfumes that feel like miniature installations, each with a clear narrative focus.

    Philosophy

    What drives Timothy

Han treats scent as a dialogue between the mind and the skin. He believes a fragrance should unsettle, provoke thought, and echo the narratives that shape our lives. Each bottle begins with a concept—a novel, a political moment, an architectural form—then he collaborates with expert noses to find ingredients that embody that story. He avoids formulaic trends, preferring to let the idea dictate the composition. For Han, the act of smelling becomes an act of reading, a chance to experience a text without turning a page.
