Matthieu Meneuvrier
Matthieu Meneuvrier grew up between two worlds. Born in Orléans, he spent his formative years dividing his time between France and Dubai, a duality that would later shape his perspective on scent as a language without borders. His path to perfumery was anything but linear. He studied theatre, explored massage, and spent time at the Sorbonne before discovering his calling in the laboratories of Grasse. The Grasse Institute of Perfumery became his formal training ground, but it was his unconventional background that gave him an edge: an understanding of how the body moves, how emotion lives in space, how a story unfolds. Today, Meneuvrier works as a perfumer with Robertet UK, where he continues to build his craft. Recognition came quickly. A nomination for the FragCon Award for Emerging Male Fragrance Creator placed him on the industry radar early, signaling a rising talent worth watching.

How Matthieu composes
His compass points toward aromatic fougère and ambery oriental territory. Meneuvrier gravitates toward lavender and thyme for structure, orange blossom and jasmine for luminosity, with vanilla and amber providing warmth underneath. Pear appears as a surprising top note in his work, bringing freshness that cuts through the richness. His fragrances tend to feel simultaneously grounded and airy. He favors natural materials at Robertet and lets the ingredients lead rather than forcing a concept onto them. The result reads as sophisticated but not precious, familiar yet distinctive. Think of a sun-warmed herb garden beside a limestone terrace. That balance between crisp and warm defines his signature.
Philosophy
What drives Matthieu
Meneuvrier approaches fragrance as an act of translation. He takes memories, histories, abstract feelings and renders them tangible through raw materials. His background in theatre taught him that every composition needs a beginning, a middle, an arc. He doesn't chase trends. He looks for the emotional truth in a brief, then builds from there. The international upbringing gives him permission to mix references freely, to blend French classical structure with warmer, more aromatic influences. For him, perfume is never purely decorative. It carries weight. It should make someone feel something specific, something they can't quite name but recognize immediately.
