Lesya Volkhonskaya
Lesya Volkhonskaya grew up with a notebook full of perfume blog clippings and a curiosity that outpaced the limited scent options of her hometown. As a teenager she turned that curiosity into a part‑time job at Ministry of Scent, a boutique in San Francisco, where she met mentors who introduced her to the chemistry of aroma. Determined to master the craft, she earned a place at ISIPCA in Versailles, then apprenticed in a historic Parisian house. After years of work across Europe, she launched her own label, positioning herself among the few professionally trained female noses who also run a perfume house. Her first public release earned praise for its clean jasmine, confirming that her blend of French technique and design sensibility resonated with a new generation of scent seekers.

How Lesya composes
Lesya favors transparent accords that let natural materials shine. She builds around a clear heart, often choosing jasmine sambac, gardenia, or white tea, then supports them with subtle green notes and a whisper of soft musk. Her technique includes layering light citrus top notes that evaporate quickly, leaving the floral core untouched. She prefers sustainably sourced absolutes and cold‑pressed extracts, believing that purity preserves nuance. In the base, she opts for ambergris‑like synthetics that add depth without overwhelming the composition.
Philosophy
What drives Lesya
Lesya believes that fragrance should feel like a quiet conversation with the skin, not a proclamation. She treats each ingredient as a character that speaks honestly, avoiding heavy synthetics that mask authenticity. Her designs aim to capture moments—an afternoon in a garden, the breath of fresh jasmine—without forcing nostalgia. She draws inspiration from architecture and graphic design, translating visual balance into olfactory structure. For her, the creative spark ignites when a raw material reveals its true personality, prompting a composition that honors that essence.
