Paolo Terenzi arrived in perfumery the way most do not, through a winding road of guitar strings and bohemian wandering before the family calling finally claimed him. The grandson of Guglielmo Terenzi, a master perfumer who founded the family candle workshop in the Marches, Paolo spent his childhood surrounded by precious waxes and wisps of resin smoke. His grandfather served as both teacher and eternal example of style, though it took Paolo until age 25 to understand that the craft running through his veins was his own path. He spent his early years playing guitar in streets and theaters, living second by second without a plan, traveling the world. The scents of wild flowers picked by his grandmother, wood burnt on winter evenings, warm waxes mixed with lavender and honey, all became the library of olfactory memories he would later draw upon. When he finally returned to the family workshop, he realized perfumery would be far more than a vocation, it would be a way to capture the essence of emotion itself.
Philosophy
Terenzi calls himself politically incorrect, and his fragrances bear that spirit. He rejects the classic perfume pyramid structure in favor of what he calls a universal language that captures the imperfect tension within perfection.
