The Story of __SOFT_DELETED__Wet Mineral
Wet Mineral captures the ancient, primal scent of rain striking stone and earth. This modern perfumery note recreates the cool, crystalline freshness of mineral springs, wet granite, and the olfactory memory of stones after a storm.
Heritage
Mineral notes emerged alongside the aquatic fragrance revolution of the 1980s, when perfumers began seeking alternatives to traditional floral and chypre compositions. While ancient cultures valued mineral substances like alum and rock salt for their preservative and spiritual properties, they rarely used mineral scents in perfumery. The development of synthetic aroma chemistry in the twentieth century made mineral-like effects possible. F. Malle's 'Bigarade' in 2002 and later aquatic-novelty fragrances normalized mineral accords in mainstream perfumery. Today, wet mineral notes represent a distinctly modern olfactive language that speaks to freshness, purity, and the primal response to rain.
